Wood Selection and Character:

Our wood has been specially selected. It is double dried, aged to ensure stability, and then planed befor it is assembled for the finest quality surface. Each piece of wood has a unique grain and color. As is the nature of wood, it will shrink a little and show variations that can enhance the beauty of the product. These changes are considered part of the beauty and charm of natural wood products. Stains and clear finishes that we offer, will enhance and preserve the character of the wood.

Wood Finishes:

The Wright Idea uses Olympic brand stains. These oil based stains penetrate the grain giving the wood a subtle but wonderful shade, while adding an additional layer of protection. The final color of the stained wood will depend on many things, including porosity, and base color. Colors over pressure-treated Southern Yellow Pine (SYP), are not the same as those when applied to untreated, lighter or darker woods. SYP is an excellent base wood for pressure treating because it already contains resin that helps to protect it from deterioration. However, the oil-based stains we use are required to provide the penetration needed. <Back to Top>
